Crocus
return each spring
to brighten the graveyard.
Purple, yellow, white, and pink blossoms
open.
Small bright
shining blossoms
face the sun in prayer
and drink the tears of mourning
like rain.
They are
flowers sent from
the dead to the living
as reminders to live each day
fully.
